American White Ash flooring is  lightly-coloured, hard and highly desirable with excellent shock resistance. Featuring a straight, relatively open grain with occasional wavy figuring, White Ash holds stains / colours superbly and as such, many Ash floors tend to be lightly stained. The beauty of Ash lies not only in its figuring but density...this is a very tough hardwood (the timber of choice for baseball bats) and suitable for high-traffic areas.  We cannot recommend more highly our American White Ash flooring with a Scandinavian White stain as a contemporary,  durable alternative to Douglas Fir White Lye and Soap finish flooring.

Scandinavian Style - American White  Ash - Saatchi

We produce our Ash flooring in a singular premium grade - Select : expect occasional small pin knots and variations in colour; from cream-colored and white tones to biscuit hues with small flashes of darker tones and a strong grain. Available in a choice of three single wide-plank widths: 220mm, 240mm and extra-wide 260mm, in long random lengths (median 2.4m).  A longer length specification - up to 3.5m length floor boards -  subject to availability of timber and + 15% on prices listed below .

Scandinavian Style - American White  Ash - Saatchi

We have developed the Saatchi White stain (below) as a low-maintenance, durable alternative to a White Lye and Soap finish. This stain also allows the natural variations in colour and grain structure to permeate through and as such expect variations in tone / colour from floorboard to floor. It may go without saying but... Ash along with all of our timbers is a natural material , as such no two floors will ever be the same. Lighting , daylight and choice of wall colour etc will also have polarizing effects.

 Finishing : Saatchi Stain & Low-Lustre UV Oil Top-coat  £6.50 per m2 + V.A.T.

American White Ash  - Saatchi - Gappy - Font Hill Mews, London

American White Ash -  Treatex Natural Hardwax Oil Finish - Aime Boutique - Notting Hill

The beautiful natural creamy greige hues within unfinished Ash were retained by the application on-site of Treatex Hardwax Oil Natural  which contains a small amount of white pigment and allows it to be used as a base coat: to protect light timbers whilst changing the unfinished colour as little as possible.

We have our own specialist Nature UV Oil formulated which enables speed UV curing in less than sixty seconds through our new industrial Ultra Violet rollercoater (available in matte / semi-satin). Natural hues are retained and honey pine yellowing is prevented and the natural look protected with this diamond hard finishing.

UV oils are hybrid finishes with amazing coverage and can also be formulated with a very low gloss level (10%) for minimal sheen / reflect a minimal amount of light. This lack of sheen is very good news when it comes to dents, dinks and scratches. With UV Oil finishes, less is more. Because the finish is thin and flexible, it is able to take impacts, conforming to the mishap. The finish is left intact to continue protecting the wood, rather than chipping or flaking away.

American White Ash  - Clear Oil Induro XL10

A clear Oil is by far the easiest finish to maintain and will enhance the warm hues within lighter coloured timbers. A light golden patina will deepen gradually over time and exposure to sunlight. A clear hard-wax oil is a very durable and a suitably easy finish to spot-repair . Marks or worn areas can be locally repaired, without the need for sanding the entire floor.
